OUR STORY
In Abruzzo, Terre di Mario represents the work of our farmer members and their meticulously cultivated vineyards. The cellar annually welcomes the production of traditional Montepulciano and Pecorino grapes, alongside recent international vines such as Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. A perfect combination of tradition and innovation, respect for nature and passion.
TERROIR
The vineyards of Terre di Mario are a beautiful mosaic of soils and vines in the province of Chieti, in the Abruzzo region. A vast and varied territory with an extension of 90 km from north to south, and 40 km from the coast towards the hinterland. An area between the Adriatic Sea and the Majella, where it is possible to find optimal terroirs and microclimates for the ripening of our grapes and the production of quality wines. The soil is predominantly stony and rich in microelements. The climate is warm and enjoys sea breezes, thus keeping the bunches of grapes dry. The Abruzzo mountains dominate the view and are the cradle of the Terre di Mario vineyards.
THE CELLAR
In autumn, the winery takes care of the grapes with the most modern equipment. An expert team of oenologists follows the entire winemaking and aging process up to the final bottling phase in modern automated systems. Quality consistency is the main driver for delivering an excellent product to our consumers year after year.
GREEN APPROACH
Sustainability is an essential value for Terre di Mario. For several years the company has launched numerous projects in order to direct company choices towards respecting the environment and improving production, such as reducing interventions in the vineyard, collaboration with research institutes and precision viticulture. These are just some examples of Terre di Mario’s social and environmental commitment.
